Salvation By Faith Alone In Christ Alone
Originally written by Pastor Alberto Rendon

James 2:14-17 “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” KJV

The issue in these verses seems that faith plus good works will result salvation. These are the verses that many believe that salvation is not received by faith alone. If we have not understand the Biblical doctrine of salvation, these verses will convince us that faith alone cannot receive salvation.

This is the problem of many Christians today and we cannot solve this problem unless we see the point of Apostle James here.

The point of the Apostle James here is who really have real faith; it means a genuine faith or faith from the heart/saving faith.  Here, we need to be careful in our interpretation of the Bible. If James meant that salvation is earned by faith plus works, he will contradict all other Epistles especially Apostle Paul who wrote that Faith alone can earn salvation.

If James was led by the Holy Spirit he does not mean that salvation is earned by faith and works. The issue here is, that Apostle James was looking for a real faith –a living faith that bears fruits of good works, because he knew that real faith will have works.

We can understand in the context because he considered that faith without works is dead, but it does not mean that salvation is received by faith and good works. What he meant to say here is that dead faith cannot save, because at first he said.

“What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?”

He pointed out that, that dead faith cannot really receive salvation. He added “Can such faith save him?” (James 2:14) NIV.

James was looking a genuine faith and by works genuine faith is proven. It is clear what he said that faith which is not genuine cannot receive salvation. He was looking a genuine faith that is alive and the result of that faith is salvation and good works.

Faith in God is not the same as Faith in Jesus Christ

The other point James meant to say here is Faith in God cannot really save anyone. It is not faith in God that can save us. He said in verse 19 of the same chapter, that the demons believe there is a God. In other words the demons believe in God, but it has no good works accompany of that faith.

James here is telling that there are two kinds of faith, the dead faith – without works like of the demons and the real Faith /a living faith – that produces good works.

But what we see here is faith in God cannot and will not save even if it produces good works, if we believe that there is a God who created the universe that is good, but it is not the basis of our salvation.

Salvation is received by believing that God by His grace He saved us. It is not believing in God alone, but believing of what He has done for us through Jesus Christ, that He died, buried and rose again. The object of faith for our salvation is not that we believe that God is existing, God is powerful, He created the universe, but by what He has done for our salvation (Titus 3:4-7).

But of course, we must believe in God first or else we will not believe of what He has done for our salvation. Obviously you can also believe in God but you will not believe of what He has done for us. In fact other religions believe in God but do not believe of what God has done for us through our Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation.

If believing in God can save us, Jesus Christ would not be born and died for our salvation, no need, because before Christ only foolish do not believe in God. The Jews before Christ were very devoted in believing in God, the other religious people were also very devoted in God.

Why Jesus Should Have Come To Save Us?

Because Faith in God is not the basis of our salvation. The works of faith which is based on believing in God is not the same works of faith which is based on the finished work of Jesus Christ for our salvation. The Muslims, Judaism, and other religions believe in God but their works are not the same of the one who believed in Jesus Christ as Savior. In other words James was looking the works of a genuine believer as proofs of the real faith on what God has done for our salvation.

In the time of James he saw and heard many people who called them selves Christians or believers but has no proofs of works.

He questioned and rebuked those who professed they are believers of Christ but no proofs of works. We do not say that faith is enough and no more. Faith should have works. Professed faith without proofs of good works is not real faith. I am talking faith on the finished work of God through Jesus Christ for our salvation. James was looking that kind of works of faith that based of what God has done for our salvation.

James was not looking the works of faith in God. In fact, during his time he saw many religious Jewish people who have many good works produced by their faith in God and that kind of faith  is still genuine faith, it still produces good works, but it is faith in God only that doesn't receive salvation because it is not faith on what Jesus did for salvation. Many groups of  Christians today have this kind of faith.

We should also produce the works of our faith in God according to the New Testament pattern, not just the works of our faith on the finished work of God for our salvation. We do not meant that we will not believe in God and no need of good works of believing in God according to the New Testament pattern, they are also important but they are not required for our salvation. If works are required for salvation after you believe, the question that is very difficult to answer and I am sure only few can answer correctly.

The question is, HOW MANY WORKS SHOULD WE DO TO RECEIVE SALVATION? No one can point out and take Bible verses to give a number of works we should do in order to be saved. If we say ten good works or seven that means after we have faith we have to complete all of them in order to get saved, and then if we have completed the nine or six and we die, still we are not saved. Some say it is two, faith and baptism. It is also the same, that before someone is baptized then he died still he is not saved.

There is no number of rules to follow in the New Testament to produce good works in order to get saved but only faith, genuine faith. If there is a number of a rule to do to get saved, no one can be saved. Because James also said that if we commit one of the other rules we broke all.

James 2:10 “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.”

If God basis our salvation by faith and good works it would mean that salvation has different levels. Those who did many good works will receive the best salvation and those who only did few, not good salvation. The Bible does not teach that way.

That is why salvation is received by genuine faith alone because of the grace of God.

I believe genuine faith is not alone, to the extent it produces good works, but salvation does not depend on the good works but on the faith alone. I put it on this way, Faith plus Salvation equals Good works not Faith plus Good works equals Salvation. There are problems if salvation is the result of faith plus good works as we have seen above and there is one more.

Salvation is a Free Gift from God

We believe salvation is a free gift from God, totally free, and this cannot be paid and no one can pay salvation. If salvation is the result of Faith plus Good works, salvation cannot be considered free gift, but a reward earned by faith and good works.

Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:9 of The Living Bible Translation is more clearer; it says, “Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it.”

James was not saying, produce works of your faith so you will be saved, but simply “Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do...” He pointed out who has the genuine faith that is proven by works. Nowhere in the Bible found a command to work for our salvation. We are only we told to work out our own salvation?

Phil. 2:12 “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but  now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

Here we see that many people mistranslated this verse. They add for to your own salvation. Nowhere found here to work out for your salvation but work out your own salvation or work out your salvation. To better understand what it means in this verse.

We have already received salvation, but we are to work out or continue to show the proofs of good works. Logically, you cannot work out of a thing you do not have or else we have to say work out FOR IT. Paul did not say work out FOR YOUR OWN SALVATION but work out YOUR OWN SALVATION.

Salvation Is Already Given And Can Be Received By Faith

The problem is many people do not understand about salvation in general. They think that salvation is earned by good works because we will receive salvation after we die, not now. The truth is salvation is received at the point of faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

What Salvation we received at the point of genuine Faith? The Bible is very clear that salvation is at  the point of faith.

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” KJV

The Bible says for by grace are ye saved through faith, this means God saved us by His grace, He did it through our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul was writing to the believers in the church at Ephesus that they are already saved, PAST TENSE, they had already received salvation. What salvation they received? Let  us look at the person who is not a believer of Christ. In opposite, they have not received salvation, they are still in the bondage of sin and they are under the wrath of God.

John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall  not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”  KJV

The unbeliever or the one who do not believe the Son (Jesus Christ) two things are in his life; shall not see life (eternal life) and the wrath of God abides on him. In other words he is not saved from the wrath of God or the penalty of sin. The opposite is the believer is SAVED from the wrath of God.

Therefore, Apostle Paul said “For by grace are ye SAVED through faith… not of  yourselves …not of works, lest any man should boast.”

What salvation we received? Salvation from the wrath of God, we are saved because we believed. Saved from what? From the wrath of God.

Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

Here we see that we are saved (Past Tense) from the PENALTY OF SIN. Another Salvation we are going take is we are saved (Past Tense / Present Tense) from THE POWER OF SIN and the next is to be saved (Future Tense) from the PRESENCE OF SIN.

I will continue to post the other tenses of salvation in the future, please stay tuned.

Why I Do Believe In Miracles In The Name Of Jesus Christ

Original written by Pastor Alberto Rendon

I have been very busy in the past few days doing things online ministries, giving messages, insights, advises, commendations, comments on the very important issues on the Facebook accounts of my friends, FB groups and especially on the FB account of Congressman Manny Paquiao. I have been very concern on the political issues Cong. Manny Paquioa is facing in the two successive days about the people that he was also very concern about.

I am following our Champ on FB. Please let us continue to uphold him in prayer.  I noticed that he is very bold enough to say against the corrupt system of our government.

Why I Do Believe In Miracles In The Name Of Jesus Christ

The subject about miracles is a controversial among the Bible believers today. Believers are divided on different beliefs about miracles. Everyone could use biblical proofs to support its belief. And some are skeptics on the miracles that are always taking place especially in the forms of healing.

Beside among the believers, there are those none Bible believers who could easily refute the belief of miracles. Some of these people would use heresies that support their attacks against miracles.

I believe there are many false miracles taking place everywhere throughout the world, that is why in advanced Our Lord Jesus Christ gave a warning to His followers that Anti-Christ and false prophets could perform signs and wonders. Jesus said, "False Christ and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders so as to mislead if possible even the elect." Then He added as if knowing that many would ignore the warning, "Behold, I have told you in advance," (Matthew 24:24-25. )

It is true that there are fake miracles, but they cannot be the reasons that the true miracles will not take place in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why I believe in miracles.

Mark 16:17-18 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

From these two verses in the Bible, I would like to emphasize that there are miracles in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Before Jesus Christ was taken up in the air, he left these words assuring that there will be miracles taking place or signs shall follow them that believe in His name.

I believe in Jesus Christ as well as I believe the Bible His word, and the power of His name. I boldly say this, no matter if you or people do not believe me, but I believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is in favor of me, because this is His promise and I am only verifying what He said - as found in the Bible.

I have been reading of an article that attacks the miracles now a days.  I do not blame the author, because I understand that if he is not a Bible believer he didn't have any knowledge and experiences in the power of the word of God. If in case, he is a Bible believing - but I cannot determine exactly - because in his writing nothing found about himself.  He has been brain washed from the doctrine that has been taught that miracles have ended already.

The things he wrote about, is that there is no miracle today, because if there is, why is it that those who teach about miracle and healing when they get sick they go to the hospital for healing. He said that, those who believe in miracles died with sickness in many kinds as others that do not believe. Many things he wrote to attack those who believe in miracles. He added that those testimonies heard on TV or read on any magazines and articles are fakes and are not verified.

I have read one of the known preachers who also believe that the gift of miracle has passed away. So therefore no more biblical miracles today if there is any, it's of the devil. This statement amazed me on how they have made an end the word of Jesus Christ that signs shall follow them that believe? Would that be a clear statement that they do not really believe the gospel, or they must have to say there are no more believers today.

What they have believed that what Jesus was talking about signs are not miracles, but just providence.  To properly and clearly distinguish if the signs Jesus was talking about are only providence and not miracles, we will throw back to them about their explanation of what miracle is all about.

They said that;
“Miracles are extraordinary acts of providence which should not be conceived, properly speaking, as violations of the laws of nature, but as the production of events which are beyond the causal powers of the natural entities existing at the relevant time and place."

So, miracle is a violation of the laws of nature, which I believe it is true.

Looking back at what happened in the Bible history times, more likely of what the records in the Old Testament miracles, that God has made an highway in the middle of the red sea, the sun never moved on, the fall of Jericho walls, the iron ax floated and we could put more on the list... and many more in the New Testament.

But, let us go back to Mark 16:17-18, are the signs Jesus have spoken here, are only providence or miracles or violations of the laws of nature?

Now let us look first the definition about providence.
Providence of God, in contrast, is not miraculous other than the fact that God provides the guidance within the minds of men to perform his wishes. And the performance by man is within the realm of natural laws.
Many confuse near-miracles with actual miracles. The praying for the sick or wounded may or may not invoke the providence from God that will allow the person to heal and return to good health. He may guide the mind of the physician to do the proper things for the person to recover. And on many occasions, even when one is expected to be dying and does not, the reason was not miraculous. The very definition of miracle is something that is beyond the laws of nature.
It is now very clear that the signs our Lord has spoken are two things providence and miracles.

Casting out devils, could be a miracle and providence. The miracle is, you as human that is against the nature of the spirit have the authority against the spirits or the devils. What is that violates against of its nature? It is the nature of the evil spirits that submit to the nature of the human beings. So it is a miracle.

The providence is that, it is in the name of Jesus Christ that the authority of the believers came.  And the miracle is that, the nature of evil spirits submits to the human nature which violates the laws of nature.

Miracle as an act of God through the believers is still in effect today. I believe that, and it is happening throughout Christian history.

My Personal Experience

We stayed in a house we rented for almost four years.

We were looking a house to rent after we have been moved out from the previous house we have rented because it was already sold to a company to build their gasoline station on that location.

We have found out a house that was closed, but before that many have been already renting this house for only a short period of time, then moved away because they have seen the movements of evil spirits disturbing them most of the time, and their children got sickly.

The history was that, in the bath room where the male owner of the house was found out dead caused by severe stroke.  Since then, the family moved out and the house was ready for rent.

So we've got the agreement to rent the house, but our neighbors were amazed after several weeks and they told us, that they have not seen any signs of the movements of evil spirits anymore, and which before that they can sense and actually see how the evil spirits manifest in unusual ways. That’s exactly, the evil spirits where the one moved out because we have cast them out in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I can tell many stories about providence and miracles. Read this story and it is up to you what you can say.

The Conversions of the Unbelievers

There was a wife who suffered of severe kidney trouble; they were indigents that they were hesitant to bring her to the hospital. So the wife have suffered several days until they have decided to borrow some amount of money to bring her to the hospital, and on that day as they plan the husband woke up early in the morning to go to their relatives outside the village to borrow some amount of money.

In the afternoon, the husband was not at home yet, and we get together with the church members of the Church I visited, conducting a bible study in their neighbor's house. Their neighbor invited her to attend in the bible study for prayer.  So the wife attended, and I saw her that she is sickly, seems agonizing inside that according to her she has not eaten breakfast and lunch due to a severe pain.

I was the one preaching the word of God, instead of lecture type as a bible study style, I was preaching boldly, then I sensed the moving of the anointing of God on me, so after that, I told everyone to lay our hands on her and pray for her healing. So we laid hands, of course I led her a sinners' prayer first, then I prayed that God will manifest his healing power through us in the name of Jesus Christ.

I rebuked the evil spirits that put that sickness on her to get away from her, and then I declared that she is healed in the name of Jesus Christ.  I did not pray that God will heal her in the name of Jesus Christ; my prayer was that God will use us for her healing. After that, it was really instant healing. I saw her now differently as tears falling down from her eyes joyfully. She was completely healed.

The husband got home later and was told of the healing of his wife. So they did not go to the hospital anymore and both of them were converted and have been born again. And later on I heard that the husband become a pastor.

So, what can you say? Was that a miracle or only providence? If miracle is against the law of nature, can we see there the things that violates against the law of nature?

Now, let us look at it closely. The nature is that, the kidney has a trouble that caused the pain. Although, we are not told that there was a stone on her kidney and whatever, we are very sure that naturally there is something wrong in her kidney. But mostly, kidney troubles caused by kidney stone and if ever there is a stone inside her kidney then it is melt or removed not by any medicines or operations, but after we laid hands on her and declared her healing. Was that a miracle or not?  Was that against nature or not?

Science and medical go together with nature, and their solution is operation or a medicine to melt the stone.  So that's nature or natural means for her healing, if that is so and she is healed then that is God's providence that guides the Doctor to successfully heal her. That is not a miracle, but God's providence as the answer to the prayers.

But if in case, she has no kidney stone, just something wrong that made an abnormal function in her kidney that caused a sever pain, could we say then, that it is not a miracle that when the abnormality of her kidney has now become normal again without any medicines? I think that's really a miracle.

Where is the providence there? The providence, is that we have that power in the name of Jesus Christ to rebuke the evil spirits, declared healing and cursed the sickness.

Why is it that those who believe in miracles still died with sickness like the others who do not believe miracles? The answer of this question will be on the future post.  Please stay tuned....

Glorify God in You Body

I ate two dinners last night, one in our Bible Study and in the Birthday of one of our young people that turned to 21 years old. My family did not go with me to the Bible study because they must have go to the birthday celebrant's house ahead of me.

Yesterday we have done our parts as minister of the gospel, ministering to the congregation in the morning and a Bible study in the night.  The message in the morning that I tackled  was "Glorify God in your body." Taken from the book of 1 Corinthians 6:20.  And the subject we have discussed in our Bible Study was about "The Believers of the Gospel- Disciples -  were First Called Christians in Antioch."

I discussed in our Bible Study with the audience representing of six families about Biblical Christians, like the Christians found in the book of Acts, particularly in the Church at Antioch - found in Acts 11:26.  We can learn a lot about Biblical Christians if we will take a deeper look on this subject. I will post some insights about it maybe in the next post.

Glorify God in You Body

1 Corinthians 6:20  "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

The Nominal and Biblical Christians

This week we have so many activities. We have attended the two days seminar and workshop last Monday and Tuesday, and on Thursday we have our consultation concerning what is happening in our area particularly here in Mindanao Philippines.

We are so concern about how we could win people to Christ especially those who are with another religion that is not belonging to the Christianity.

It's me holding the banner setting at the left side

As what the world thinks that Philippines is the only Christian country in Asia, many believe that it is true, but in reality that's only the name. We called it nominal Christian not really Biblical Christian. There is a big difference between nominal and biblical Christian.

As what I know according to what I have read about a long time ago, and I do not know if it is already updated, that Christianity in the Philippines is about 95% that's included all kinds of Christian denominations and 5% is Islam. But out of 95% Christians only 15% is considered Biblical Christians.

What is nominal Christian?

Nominal Christian in my own definition is a person who is born in a Christian family who embraced a Christian religion, being acknowledged as a member of that certain religion or Christian denomination, but doesn't know about the teaching in the Bible particularly in the way of salvation.

Nominal Christian I am talking about is not only belongs to a certain known Christian denomination like Roman Catholic Church, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) Seventh Day, Jehovah's Witnesses and so forth, but  in every Christian denomination and even among the so called born again churches, evangelicals, Baptists or whatever that bears the name Christian.

You can witness and even ask a question to the people here in the Philippines most especially those who are in jail, the corrupt politicians, the criminals, prostitutes, gamblers, drunkards, robbers and gambling lords, drug lords, drug pushers and users and so forth.  Ask this question. "What is your religion Christian or Islam?"  Majority or I would say 95% will answer Christian.

If you have seen mostly young people today in the Philippines who are bound with the things I mentioned above are the proof of a nominal Christian. I was one of them, until I reached my age of 18.

This kind of people is named in our language KBL (Kasal, Bunyag, Lubong) that means they go to church when there is wedding ceremony (Kasal) child baptism (Bunyag) and Funeral Service in the Church (Lubong).

Before my age of 18, I never have a single verse in the Bible that I have read. I never knew what is verse, chapter and book in the Bible. I did not know what the gospel means, I maybe have heard that word especially during Holy Weeks but never understood of what it is all about. But I acknowledged that I am a Christian.

What I knew is I had a religion. I am a Christian, and in that young age I have some kinds of vices that do not promote the good moral behaviors especially the behavior as true Christian. Like the rest of today's most young people who are very proud to say about their religion.

I remember a story of a Christian Missionary who landed on the airport somewhere in the Philippines, who was very confident and very happy because he was assigned as a missionary in a Christian country, expecting that Christian people are good people and he thought that it is not a dangerous place for him.

But he was dismayed when he read the signboard inside the airport building that has a writing "Beware of Robbers." The thought in his mind... "He said that Christians are robbers?" Yes! That’s the nominal Christians. That is the reason why he was being sent to this country because of the 85% among Christians, are nominal Christians. They need to be reached out with the gospel.

What is Biblical Christian?

Biblical Christian is not based on the name of a certain Christian church or denomination. But based on what the Bible has to say. Although we cannot find the words Biblical Christians nor nominal Christians in the Bible, just only the word Christians which has a few times mentioned in the Bible. On that case, I will have to explain about how the people in the Bible become Christians? This is what I meant based on what the Bible has to say.

Christian is a name after the name of Christ. That means people belong to Christ or followers and or believers of Jesus Christ.  How this people become followers or believers of Christ? It is simply because they have heard and believed the preaching of the gospel  about Christ.

The first step of becoming a Christian is having the understanding or being enlightened of the gospel of Christ. There comes the faith in Jesus and should decide now to acknowledge him as savior and Lord in his life.

They have been converted to the teaching of Jesus Christ and have been given not just a literal name but a spiritual identity as a new creation. There must be a conversion.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Christianity is not a religion in the sense of spirituality, but an experience of one who have been united in Christ or being in Christ, regardless of the literal denominational names.

What is the teaching of Jesus Christ about spiritual experience?

John 3:3-7 "3  In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'

How to experience born again life? I will tackle next post....  Please keep in touch.

The Story in our Seminars and Workshops

I am not feeling well today due to maybe lack of sleep. How many days and nights already I have been working with my project that is still ongoing, plus we have the two-day seminars and workshops in the past two days.

When I posted some ads on my FB, I was so very sleepy that I have not noticed some errors in my writing.  Anyway for cell phone users we can understand the way we used to send text messages that is always miss spelled and we often times shortened the words and sometimes we used the telegraph style.

The two-day (September 15-16, 2014) seminars and workshops was so very enjoyable and we are all blessed. We extend our gratitude to all who made the event successful especially to Pastor & Mrs Amado Medina and to the speakers from the Bible League in Luzon Philippines.

We have learned so many things in the seminars, there was laughing together with the group of teams that performed the practicums on how to teach the literacy in a very effective way. Also there was a time that we could cry because we really felt that someone or somebody do really loves us.

We were new to the demonstrations on how we feel the love of our parents when they say something that we are very important and valuable to them. Oh! How I wish that all parents will say some very loving words to their children.

There also I ponder as human that we really need to hear good and loving words to left us up especially in the times that we are down.  How a good feeling we feel when we hear loving words that come from the heart not only from our parents, but also from our friends, relatives and people that we admired.

I remember when I visited my home place in Bohol last year, surprising our mother, my brothers and sisters that when I came home my mother embraced me with tears of joy and said "my beloved son has come home" she said those words many, many times. And there I really remembered how my mother loves me since I was a child.

I believe the mothers have the greater love for their children because of the fact that physically children came from their body.

The Story in Our Seminar And Workshops

We were surprised in the workshop and the demonstration in the seminars. There was around 100 attendants in the last days and were grouped into two, that was 40+ each group that participated.  The first group have to set down on the chairs that were in circle inside the church building with closed eyes, but before that our ID tag was pinned on our clothes at our right shoulder, while the other group was gathered at the distance and each member was given a card and instructions what to do to the first group.  Each member of this group representing as mother or father - of course each woman as the mother and each man as the father. All the members have different loving messages/words written on the card.  After the instructions were given all in the groups will surround the other group silently with their leader.

I was in the group that seated. As I have closed my eyes, I noticed that the other group has surrounded us, then each one that seated on the chair has someone standing at the back, later on they begun to whisper on our left ear as they read the message in the card. After they  have said something to each one of us that have seated, they moved on to the next one then to the next and I think up to twenty persons.  Each one of the group that seated heard the whispers of loving words representing as the words of a mother or father. Twenty voices from the women and from the men at the back with different loving words representing as a mother or father would have to say as they expressed how they feel to have son and daughter.

While the whispers were going on, the women that seated were the one who first began to cry... then some of the men I could also hear crying. I don't want to cry but I cannot hold my tears to start falling down, so I fulled up my handkerchief from my pocket to wipe my tears. Later on the whispers stopped and there was a prayer led by the leader.

It was realy an awesome feeling that seems we could hear the voice of our mother and father the way how they love us. The message that touched my heart that made my tears came out was the message that says "My Son... we are very happy that you have come to our lives." Then followed by another message that says, "My son I love you very much more than my life."

Then after the prayer, it was our turn to revenge ops...nge... not revenge. It was our time to stand and those who whispers first will be the one to set down. The same way of what we are going to do, but there is a little bit different in the messages because we are not representing as fathers and mothers but as the Lord that loves them.  We have been also given cards with messages from the word of God.

Now the other group may think that what we are going to do is the same thing, so maybe some of them were already skeptic, but they were disappointed because this time they could not hear from their loving parents as they think, but the words that came from God that loves them so much more than the parents.

The same thing of what the other group did to us. While we started to whisper it happened also that the other group was crying, it seems heavily because they responded with worship to God and that seems they felt the presence of the Lord.  The message given to me in the card was "I will reveal the secret things to them that love me."  So I have to say those words nicely with a very good voice as God.  Ngee...! Especially that my wife was one of them seating. So in my mind, I said I will try my best that my wife cannot recognize my voice. So when I came to her to whisper, I made my voice as big and very cold voice as a humble man, but in my mind I was seriously laughing.

Also, it was the same thing; we did not finish all the 40+ on the chairs maybe that was only 20 persons that we have given the messages then a prayer led by our leader.

When we got home we have talked it about, then I asked my wife if she did recognize my voice, but she said, no!  So we laugh together when I told her that I changed my voice. But when she first whispered to me I can really recognize her voice as it was usual, but it touched my heart because the message that I said above that says, "... we are very happy that you have come to our lives." Then followed by another messages of how our parents valued us so much that will really make you cry.

If you have noticed... She did not really say it to me "My Son... But I added that  as I stated  above because it is understood that's the way supposed to be.  Although, I have not heard that she said that to our children, but the expressions that we have shown to our children is more than that. As parents we are really very happy to have our children.

The sufferings of the Sinners and the sufferings of the Christians

Our Today's updates!

We have been very busy since September 12, and on that day we have two invitations and a ministry work that I ministered with the word of God in one of the two families who also have birthday celebrations.

And on Saturday September 13, again one of the youth in our church celebrated his 25th birthday and we came to their house to minister with prayers and short exhortation of the word of God. Then, in the afternoon and the rest is a preparation for Sunday Worship Service.

Sunday - September 14, we have our regular Sunday Worship Service from 8:30- 10:30 AM. We took our rest with the family in the afternoon, and in the evening we have our Bible Service in the family of our friends whose loved ones has departed and after that we went to our other friends who celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

Today is September 15, we attended a whole day literacy seminar and workshop, and we have just arrived home around 8:00 o'clock in the evening from the venue which is about an hour travel.  And tomorrow is our church planting workshop at the same venue. I have been very busy, in the work of the ministry. Almost have no time to post anything on my websites.

We enjoy our literacy workshop today with 75 participants. This program will really work for soul winning, we thank God, and  there are people who sponsored for the teaching materials that supposedly we are going to pay for the cost of these good stuff and 1 Bible.

Since I am busy and a very hectic time, I have only just a little note to post here.

Yesterday in my Sunday sermon I tackled about the two sufferings of humanity.

The sufferings of the Sinners and the sufferings of the Christians

1 Peter 4:15-16 "But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.   Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf."

From these two verses, generally it is very clear that there are two kinds of sufferings that people today is experiencing - the sufferings as the result of sin and the sufferings as the result of living in a Christian life.

Here we see that suffering is common to all people. No one is exempted from this word suffering. All of us will undergo or have already experienced and or will experience suffering. Human suffering will only end after we will depart from this body.

All of the sufferings are consequences only of our lifestyle. But the word of God is teaching us that if do suffer we need to choose the good kind of suffering which are the consequences of living a Christian life.   The sufferings of the Christians are by far has a very huge different compared to the sufferings as the consequences of evil doings.

Speaking of Christian sufferings, which many of us maybe are experiencing are only trials and testing of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I want you to take note this, that first of all spiritually, emotionally, materially, morally and physically - our sufferings as Christians will turn into blessings.

Take this in your mind that after trials and testing we will have the blessings for our own to enjoy as we have the victory at last, the blessings that our family members will also enjoy and the blessings for the others to share.

In the other hand, the suffering of the sinners is not just a curse in nature but has a curse with it that will destroy the bearers in more likely if they will not repent. And even though, the sinners will repent and the curse is cut off, but the effect is still working.    But there is good news for the sinners. If you only repent from your sin, the nature of the curse is been cut off from you and by the grace of God you can make the effect of it into blessings.

The Importance of Preaching the Gospel of Christ

Originally written by Pastor Alberto Rendon

Today is September 11, 2014, and again we have our dinner in the home of one of our church members whose 1 year-old son celebrates his birthday today. And tomorrow again there are two birthday invitations for dinners. Wow...! It's good to be a Pastor.

I have been writing in my previous posts in the past few days that we are always having invitations for dinners sometimes lunch. We thank God for that. That's life of a pastor if you have church members and friends.

As I gave my exhortation, I  remembered  the day when the twin towers in USA collapsed. And it reminds me about the importance of preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the sinners.

I want to share to you today a message taken from the book of Philippians which Apostle Paul considered the most important need of humanity in which without it we will not become Christians or followers and or believers of Christ. And, more likely we will not go to heaven.

The Importance of  Preaching the Gospel of Christ

Philippians 1: 16-18 "Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:  The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice."
What I saw from these three verses in the book of Philippians chapter one is the importance of preaching the gospel of Christ. What Apostle Paul meant here, is that in his time there were those who preached the gospel of Christ with bad motives, but others in goodwill.  For him, he has no problem of what the motive of the preacher is, as long as Christ is preached and because of that he has the reason to rejoice.

Apostle Paul was rejoicing and he urged the believers in Philippi to rejoice with him because Christ has been preached in any way.

To the Apostle Paul the preaching of the gospel of Christ is so very important no matter of what has happened to him. In fact, he defended it, he has been loyal to it, he was willing to die for it and eventually he encountered and have suffered the difficulties still nothing could move him.

The Gospel of Christ is the key to heaven

When I was a young people, there was a song that we always rendered in a special song in some of the Bible services we have conducted in our Christian denomination. The title of that song is "Prayer is the key to Heaven".

I am careful of the title of that song because it might be misinterpreted by others that it's only by prayer we can enter into heaven, in other words if you are prayerful you will go to heaven or if you have prayed a sinner's prayer you are bound for heaven, it is because prayer is the key to heaven, and I will tell you it is not prayer that opens the door of heaven, but it's the gospel of Christ.

I believe, prayer is the key to heaven in terms of our needs that we are asking God to give us. But prayer is not the key we can use to enter heaven, although you pray for your salvation, but it is not the primary thing so that you will enter to heaven.

The gospel of Christ is the most important thing before anyone ever known Christ. It is the gospel that the devil is being afraid because he knows that it is the key to heaven. That is why he has blinded many people, lest they will be enlightened by the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4).

The devil has no problem to convince people to believe in God, in fact many people are deceived by him through this doctrine, just believe in God and it is enough. But I tell you the truth, believing in God alone is not the key to heaven.

Faith in God is not enough to go to heaven.

Many known Christian denominations that do not emphasize about the importance of the preaching of the gospel of Christ. They are more on doctrinal issues, like their belief of God. They have been in debate about the belief of God, that God is oneness, trinity, dual and so forth. They have more time on these issues, they spent more money to educate students to depend of what they believe is the truth. They have been concluded that if people do not believe with them in their belief about God,  they are of the devil and will not go to heaven.

It is shocking to know that their salvation is based on the minor doctrines about the belief of God. I tell you, whatever belief about God you have, either you are a trinitarian, a unitarian, only one God the Father and  our Lord Jesus Christ is just a man and others believe that Jesus is only a mighty God and not the Almighty one, and Jesus is only a prophet and so forth.  Your belief is not enough to go to heaven.

To go to heaven is to believe the gospel of Christ. There is a big difference between believing in God and believing the gospel of Christ.  That is why Jesus said.

John 14:1-2 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
Jesus Christ meant to say here that you must believe in God and believe also in him because he will be preparing a place for you in heaven.  So it is not enough to believe only in God, but you must believe in Jesus Christ.  The gospel that has been preached as recorded in the Bible is about who Jesus Christ is and of what he has done.

Faith in God is believing that there is God existing, and faith in Jesus Christ is believing of what he has done for us. Hence, we understand that there are two kinds of faith - faith in God and faith in Jesus Christ others called it saving faith.

To speak about faith in God, or having a genuine faith in God cannot really save a man and it is not the key to heaven. How can you imagine those people who crucified Christ? These people are religious, they believe in God more than the others, you cannot question  their faith in God, because they have a genuine belief about God. And, I think they have the truth about a belief of God, but they did not believe in Jesus Christ.

Even though, they have faith in God, but they do not have faith in the gospel of Christ. And, by the authority of the epistles in the Bible that it is to believe the gospel (Romans 1:16) of Christ that you can be saved then those who do not actually believe the gospel are absolutely not saved.

The Saving Faith Brought by the preaching of the Gospel

To have a saving faith means, being enlightened by the gospel. Having the understanding of the real spiritual situation that man is bound for judgement because he is sinner and there is no other means to be saved except by trusting  Jesus Christ and on what he has done on the cross.

But no one is being enlightened or have received the saving faith without a clear presentation of the gospel. There must be a preaching of the gospel. Apostle Paul rejoiced when he heard that there were people who preached the good news of salvation, no matter of the motivation of the preacher. It is because he did not focus on the preachers, but on the people who can hear the preaching of the gospel.

The real Christians are the people who have the saving faith or enlightened by the gospel. They are the true believers of Christ. In the Christian countries most people believe that becoming Christian you must be a member of a Christian church through being listed in the church membership, even if he does not understand or hear the gospel of Christ, so he thought that he is already a Christian.  Biblical Christian is not like that. Biblical Christians are believers of the gospel, they have the understanding of what the gospel is all about.

It's the gospel they have believed, received and is stored in their mind that unlocks the door in heaven. That is why I believe that the key to heaven is the gospel and the key to saving faith is the preaching of the gospel..... It is very important to take note that the preaching of the good news is so very important, so that the people whose actual spiritual situation is destined to eternal judgement might believe and receive and they will be saved. Unless people are enlightened by the gospel they will not be saved from the penalty of their sins.

Preaching of the gospel is considered by Bible scholars the great commission.   It is because Jesus Christ has commissioned his followers to preach about him, of who he is and what he has done for sinners. That's the gospel, it's about Jesus Christ.

Mark 16:15-16 "He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."
Without preaching of the good news sinners cannot hear about Jesus Christ and of what he has done for them so they cannot receive saving faith, they are not saved and it is sad to say, that they will be condemned, as the word of God says.

This is my desire and intention why I have this website, so that by means of this I can preach the gospel about Jesus Christ. Through this means we can reach the whole world where there is internet connection. And, if it happened you finished reading this message please use the social media logo below to share this message to your friends and you can help  me spread the gospel.

I believe many that can read my articles are already in Facebook, Tweeter, Google+ and so forth. So if you have your social media please share this message and every post on this website to your friends and or email to your email lists.  Let's proclaim the good news together, not only for the sake of Christ and our obedience to God, but for the sake of our loved ones and friends.

The Two Kingdoms and Which Kingdom You Belonged

Originally written by Pastor Alberto Rendon

Yesterday  and today I have been very busy doing things in my Computer shop with two CPUs to be fixed plus I have many things to do online for a project.

Sometimes I have no time to recheck  my post with online grammar and spelling checker to correct the wrong spellings and grammar. I admit, that I am not expert in English, that is why I am thankful for the online checker and please take patience of my mistakes or clerical errors.

Again, we have been invited for dinner this afternoon in the birthday celebration of our neighbor who turned 61 years old today.  Thanks for the invitation Nang Betty for the birthday of Nong Muroy.

My message for today that God has impressed in my heart is about the Two Spiritual Kingdoms.
1 Peter 2:9  "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" KJV
Apostle Peter wrote a letter addressed to the people of God in his time, to let them know their spiritual position while living here on earth.  We see here the spiritual position of the people of God that they are no longer in the kingdom of darkness, they have been called out of it and they have been transferred into the Kingdom of Light.

Two Spiritual kingdoms

This verse reveals two spiritual kingdoms and positions of people living in our world. Apostle Peter called it darkness and light. These two things symbolized the two kingdoms which Apostle Paul declared.
Colossians 1:13 "For he has rescued us out of the darkness and gloom of Satan's kingdom and brought us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,.." TLB
Both Apostle Paul and Peter agreed together, of course - they were inspired by the Holy Spirit,  that there are two spiritual kingdoms existing on this planet earth that both are populated by human kind.

There are two spiritual kingdoms that has its king. The one is of Satan who is the king in the kingdom, called kingdom of darkness. And, the other one is called the kingdom of light which Apostle Paul said, the Kingdom of his dear son, of course the son of God no other than our Lord and King  Jesus Christ.

The Apostles said that,  there are people who are called out of darkness and have been brought into the Kingdom of light.  That simply means that, those who have been brought into the Kingdom of light are no longer under the control and power of Satan, in the kingdom of darkness.   Instead, they are now under the control and power of God.

The work of the devil is to destroy lives of the people through the deceiving tactics and strategies -since the beginning of men. Those people who are under controlled by Satan's power naturally obey him. Anything that people do that will destroy the lives of the other people are the signs that they are under the power and control of their king Satan.

In the other hand, in the kingdom of light which Jesus Christ is the King is the opposite of what the devil is doing. That is why Jesus said in John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." KJV

The People in the Kingdom of Light

To whom did the Apostles address when he wrote that they have been called out of darkness and have been transferred, rescued or brought into the kingdom of Light? Biblically, the believers of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The Christians - believers of Christ after they have heard the gospel - in the time of Apostle Paul at Colossi that he wrote the book of Colossians.  And Apostle Peter wrote his books in the Bible addressed to the believers of Jesus Christ at Jerusalem.

The same gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, they have been preaching and teaching of what we have now.  And therefore, in today's time all those who have heard and believed the same gospel are also brought into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. That's how powerful the gospel is, it can transfer, rescued or saved and or delivered people from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light.

Apostle Paul declared that the gospel is the power of God for salvation.
"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile." Romans 1:16  NIV
That's the reason why the devil will try his best to blind people spiritually, so they will not believe the gospel, because once a person is enlightened by the power of the gospel, Satan would have lost a worker that he is going gradually to destroy even the worker's household. If possible, Satan will persecute, put into prisons or kill all the preachers of the gospel.  And he is doing that up to now since the time of the early Christians.

The people who wanted to destroy the Kingdom of Light

According to Christian history, which is Biblically based that the Apostles of Jesus Christ were put in prisons and have been killed by the religious people in their time. It has been believed that Apostle Peter was nailed reversed on the cross. Apostle Paul was beheaded in Rome. Whose law and role they have obeyed that they have done all of this that the preachers of the good news (gospel) have been sentenced to death?  It was the law of religion. People who are in religion have done this Satan's mission to kill and destroy.

People who are under the control of their spiritual king - the devil - simply fulfill his mission.   If you know the Christian history, you will find out that even the so-called - church - headed by a known leader, many have been killed, put in prisons and have destroyed families because of their law.  Is the law they have made inspired by God or the devil? But the law of God through our Lord Jesus Christ is LOVE.  Jesus said love your enemy.
"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic." Luke 6:27-29 NIV
Actually, the devil cannot and will not be able to destroy the Kingdom of Light. He may be able to destroy and kill some believers of the gospel, but it's only the physical not the spiritual.  Physical death is nothing to be afraid by the people in the Kingdom of Light. Apostle Paul said.
"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21
Remember, I am talking here about spiritual kingdoms. Although these kingdoms are both spiritual in its nature, but its mission is manifested in the physical world.  The most important is not the physical, but the spiritual and if ever the devil could destroy the physical,  he cannot destroy the spiritual or the Kingdom of light.

The Kingdom of Light cannot be destroyed

In the other hand, the devil cannot really destroy the missions of the Kingdom of light. May the devil be able to kill physically some of the believers, but the King in the Kingdom of Light has preserved more people, instead that his Kingdom is destroyed it is the devil's kingdom that has been destroyed.

In the time of Paul and Silas, they made the world (system of the kingdom of darkness) upside down.
Acts 17:6  "...Paul and Silas have turned the rest of the world upside down, and now they are here disturbing our city,..." TLB
History upon history of the Christendom proves that the Kingdom of light cannot be prevailed by the kingdom of darkness. It is ever existing in more power than before.  Pastors and Christian workers/missionaries are growing fast than ever before that penetrate to all corners of the globe.   Yah..... Jesus said, even the gates of hell cannot prevail his church (kingdom).  (Matthew 16:18).

In this website which, I am doing my best to post the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, is one way that the Kingdom of Light will penetrate to all the world. Those who are blessed by the message, they are going to share with their social networks. Hallelujah!

How To Be An Expert Living a Godly Life

Originally written by Pastor Alberto Rendon

Today is Sunday,  we thank God for each day especially Sunday which all the believers of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ would gather together in one place for fellowship, praise and worship and learning to the preaching of the precious Word of God.

After our Sunday worship we went to one of our brethren who dedicated their Isuzu Forward Truck with thanksgiving celebration, we have our lunch fellowship with some of the members who were with us. And in the afternoon, our neighbors who are our church sympathizers have brought their new motorcycle for a blessing and dedication, and again we were invited for dinner.

How To Be An Expert  Living a Godly Life

We have a very wonderful message in our Sunday Service taken from the word of God in the book of Joshua which I titled the message "Be an expert  to live a godly life." This is what God wants us to live, expert in godliness.  There are those who are expert in doing something in life.
Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." KJV

In our text, God wants that his people will become prosperous and to have good success. But there is the condition. And the condition is we must follow his ways or "... all that is written therein:.." - in the book of the law. God's ways are found in His word the Bible or the book of the law.

God's ways will lead us to have good success and prosperous life.

A doctor who is an expert would have many patients, of course he could have earn a lot of money. An engineer who is an expert would have many opportunities of constructions and eventually will make a lot of money.   To become expert would have a lot of practice or doing his job. An expert, has never become expert doing nothing.

This principle will apply to what God has designed for his people.

The same way, that when we live according to what God has instructed us in His word day by day we will become expert. There and then, the promise of blessings will be fulfilled.   Becoming and expert is worth rewarding. There is no regret when we will follow God's leading in our lives because he will reward us with his blessings.

Following God will make you Godly

Godly life means, following God's ways. This is called godly living or godly life. When we follow God day after day we are becoming experts to live godly.

And do you know what Apostle Paul said? He said in 1 Timothy 4:8 "For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." KJV

Living godly is compared to bodily exercise that has a physical benefit in the sense that you can benefit in doing so, but bodily exercise is less than compared to godly life, because godly living brings much benefits unto all things.

To have a physical benefit from bodily exercise it should be a continues daily habit.  You cannot have a physical benefit from a one time exercise in one month or a year. It is the same way with godly living, we need to have a daily habit pertaining to what God has told us to do.

In our text in Joshua it says day and night we are to meditate the word of God. This is one of the exercises that we must have to do. As well as praying or talking with God as we are commanded in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "pray continually;... " NIV

When we read and  meditate the word of God, it is His way of talking to us and when we pray, we are talking with him. God wants us to do these two-way of communication. Because this cannot be separated in a relationship between two that love each other.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth

There are many more things that God is saying about godly living. One is our mouth, the way we speak or talk, the way we sing and the way how we response to what we heard. Our mouth is compared as a match that can fire up even the biggest forest in the world.

Our mouth which our tongues reside is the most dangerous part in our body if we are not careful how to use it. There comes the blessings and cursing. As James said,  "Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be." James 3:10 KJV

We must use our mouth in a godly way, in singing we need to sing the songs of praises to God with thanksgiving.  Many people do not know how to sing spiritual songs but they are good in singing with worldly songs. To live godly is not that way. We are commanded in the Bible many times to sing songs of praises unto God

Before when I was not a believer of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, I didn't sing songs of praises to God. I never knew one song for God. Simply it is because I was not living a godly life. I did many things that contradict to godly living the whole of my life. Why? Because generally, I have no word of God in my heart, I didn't read the word of God simply because I didn't have it in my hands.

It was in 1984 that I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ through the gospel presented to me, that I have accepted and believed. There and then, I have a new relationship that I have never had before, and then that's the time that I knew how to pray or talk to God and sing new songs.

One of my cousins who was a believer of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ,  gave me a bible the word of God, that I have read and learned many things about God and of what he said.

How wonderful such a time like that, that one person came to know the Lord Jesus Christ and has started to live a godly life. I never have regretted that I become such a new person that lives a godly living. I was and am blessed with good success and prosperous life. glory to God in the highest.

Yah! That's me, you too can live godly life if you do what God has instructed us to do in a daily basis like bodily exercises.
