Believers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Originally written by Pastor Alberto Rendon

Our stomachs are very full tonight from two birthday celebrations today. At least we have not spent any money for our lunch and dinner today.  We have saved our budget for two meals... thank you Lord for the invitations.

We ate our dinner and after that we have our Bible Study and I have been teaching to the audience a topic IN CHRIST  taken in the book of 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" NIV

This was our  fourth Bible study in this family. I was teaching in the series about "Believers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ." I have emphasized that to be in Christ you must be a believer of the Gospel of him.  As a believer, the Bible says you are already in Jesus Christ.

The Importance of The Gospel

The Gospel is very important in order for any one to be in Christ. The Bible says, as Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 1:16 "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile." NIV.

This speaks about the believers of the Gospel and the believers received salvation after they have believed the gospel, and therefore, Apostle Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit said, the gospel is the power of God for salvation.

Here we understand that no one becomes a believer of God and of Christ without the gospel, so it is really the power of God to saved people. What Jesus Christ has done on the cross of Calvary to redeemed people from sin is nothing and is useless if it is not being heard or known to the people.

The power of the cross and the blood of Christ become powerless in the life of a person if he has not believe the gospel, and how can he believes the gospel if no one is teaching or  preaching unto him? That's why Jesus Christ urges his followers to go and preach the gospel (Mark 16:15-16).

You need to hear the preaching or presentation of the gospel and believe before you receive salvation.

The preaching of the gospel must be understood and there must be a clear presentation of it before someone will accept and not to doubt, but believe and lastly receive salvation. That's why the devil called the god of this world is doing all he can to blind the understanding of the people, that they may not be enlightened by the gospel.

2 Corinthians 4:4 "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." KJV

Those who have heard the gospel and believe not, they are the victims of the work of the devil.  The god of this world doesn't want you to believe the gospel lest you will receive salvation. He doesn't want that anyone to be saved. But the almighty God who is full of mercy and grace with his agape love doesn't want that anyone will perish.

But God uses his servants to present/preach the gospel and as preachers we should use God's anointing and wisdom to let the people hear and believe the gospel. And this is my ministry, my work to preach and teach the gospel. And now by means of the internet I am posting the gospel of Christ here as well as I am doing it personally. We have conducting crusades in the past in different places and planning to continue this task. And  most contents in this website are my presentation of Christ's gospel.

You are not for Christ but you are already in Christ

I emphasized in our Bible study tonight that every believer is not for Christ, but he is already in Christ. The Bible says so.

There are group of people who used this term, that they are for Christ;  like for example youth for Christ and couple for Christ. I do not know how they would explain that. For me, it's wrong and why? It is because of the words FOR and IN!  That means, using the word FOR, you are not IN yet but still going to get IN.

I believe that those who are not yet believers of the gospel, they are for Christ, but those who heard the gospel, having the clear understanding of it, never doubting about it, but believing, the Bible says they are already IN Christ.

Being In Christ means, you are in His Lordship and Kingship

Because of the inherited sin, before we become believers of the gospel, our life is under the lordship of the kingdom of darkness. That's why God the father sent his begotten son Jesus Christ to redeem us from that kingdom.

Colossians 1:13 "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,.." NIV

That verse in the Bible says that he (God)  has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought (redeemed) us into the kingdom of the Son (Jesus Christ) he loves. Before you become enlightened and believe the gospel, you are in the dominion of darkness, but now you are no longer belonged to that kingdom of darkness,  because you are now already INTO another kingdom, the kingdom of Jesus Christ.

If you are enlightened by the gospel, you are already in Christ, not anymore going to be in Christ, you are already in His kingdom. You are now under His Lordship and Kingship. You are no longer seeking the kingdom of God, because you already have found it and you are already in his kingdom.

Enlightened by the gospel

Enlightened by the gospel means, you understand that you are a sinner, and you have got a greater problem in you life,  and the problem is you cannot save your own from being a sinner and from the penalty of it. And now you know that there is the only one solution of your problem and that solution is the savior who has done all to pay the penalty of your sin and that savior is Jesus Christ.  So you must believe in Him and of what he has done for you. If you believe in Him, you are now  a believer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I Hope so.

Conclusion:

You will never be in Christ, without believing the gospel of him and you will never become a believer of him if no one told you about him - ultimately, there is no gospel to tell if God has not loved you so much.  God loves you so much that no one can compare.  You are always in God's mind. He is committed to love you forever and even you have committed mistakes to him still he loves you much. That's the gospel.  So you must be thankful for that. More blessings be multiplied to you in Jesus name. Amen!

Our Ministry Updates Please Read

Tonight we have just arrived home from Bible service in the family whose love one has departed and be buried tomorrow.  The other week we have 4 successive nights Bible service in the two families who also have love ones to be with the Lord.

In the past 3 weeks, there were 4 families that we have to support morally, spiritually and prayerfully because each of these families has lost a loved one and they are close to us.

I have been very busy for my project of making kindle books to sell in Amazon. I have already one that is already published in the site and is ready for sale. In the next following days or weeks I am going to publish more.

This project is to support the work of the ministry which, it has been already a long time enough we have been praying for financial support. I am doing any decent business online for this purpose. I have two blogs and some other online businesses.  Just new babe online and hopefully this could help.

Rediscovering The Best Way To Make Money Online: Make Money By Blogging Lifestyle

This Philippines Christian Journal blog was supposedly in the paid host domain that I registered for one year, but due to some reasons I transferred it here in blogger.com. Blogger dot come is free and is hosted by google the number one search engine globally by far who owns youtube and many others and it has many online opportunities.

If you are not a member of google I encourage you to sign up for membership using the gmail.com account and you could have many opportunities here like google + and what I like the most is a hard drive online that you can store files from you computer works backups. Almost every thing online speaking of opportunities is here in your google account. To sign up for your account is totally free.

My http://alrenpages.com  blog is a registered domain that I registered on April this year 2014, which the full function was on the last days of June.  I try my best to always update and post more articles in both of my blogs.  The PCJ was just newly transferred here that is only almost two weeks on this write up.

The dates as you have seen in my previous posts are the original dates when those articles were created in my registered domain which name is the same http://philippineschristianjournal.com that is temporarily closed for now.

Some contents of this blog are my sermon  outlines, my articles,  teaching materials, photos and updates of our ministry here. I have also some advertisements here of my other online businesses. You can subscribe for updates by signing up on the subscribe bar at the top of the left sidebar.  When you are already subscribed, you will receive an email for every post I posted on here.

Biblical Salvation Is The Spiritual Deliverance From Sin

Originally written by Pastor Alberto Rendon

I want to tackle in this post about Biblical salvation.  And I hope that it gives more understanding to those who are in doubt about their salvation.

Many people knew about Salvation but they have never understood what salvation is all about. In this study, I want you to understand about Biblical salvation.

What is Salvation?

Salvation is a deliverance from disasters or punishment. At times, the Bible uses the word salvation for the temporary and physical deliverance, like the deliverance desired by the Apostle Paul to be released from prison (Philippians 1:19).

Mostly in the Bible, the word salvation is based on Spiritual and eternal deliverance from the penalty of sin. The Apostle Paul is talking about salvation in Ephesians chapter two (Eph. 2), it’s about the spiritual salvation.

Salvation is the spiritual deliverance from the penalty of sin, received only through faith in Jesus Christ who saved people from God's punishment for sin.

Romans 5:1, 9  “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,.. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!”

If we do really understand that by faith in Jesus Christ who died on the cross for us, we are justified before God and He saved us from the penalty of sin.

Romans 8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,..”

Biblical or spiritual salvation is the deliverance from the penalty of sin.

Who saved us from the penalty of sin?

It’s God who personally delivered us through Jesus Christ because of his grace, not by our good works. (2 Timothy 1: 9).

2 Timothy 1:8 - 9 “So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,..”

How can we receive salvation, is it by doing good works or by membership in a religious group? The Bible says it’s only by faith and it’s not through good works either membership in a religious group (Ephesians 2: 8-9).

According to what is written in the Bible in the book of Ephesians 2:8 that Salvation is a gift of God. Gift means, freely given, the giver never requires a payment for it. And it is because it’s a gift; the only thing we must do is to accept by faith believing it has already given to us.

If salvation is received by faith plus good works, salvation cannot be considered as a gift anymore but a reward. Many people believe that salvation is received by faith plus good works. And if it so, we have got a problem.

The problem is, how many good works we must do to receive salvation? There is nothing in the Bible that we can find how many good works to accomplish in order that God will give us salvation.

If we give a number of good works to be accomplished to receive salvation, I must have to do all of them and after I have accomplished all of them, I have already paid my salvation and no more.

And if I cannot accomplish all of them because I missed one, so I am not saved and all the others that I did are useless, more likely still I am going to receive punishment for my sin of missing one good work. That is why salvation is by faith alone not by faith plus good works.

What kind of faith you must have to receive salvation?

The faith to receive salvation is called saving faith. It is not the kind of faith to believe in God. Faith in God is different from saving faith. Saving faith believes what God has done in Christ Jesus for us. While faith in God believes that there is a God.

To believe that there is a God cannot save. Almost all people have this kind of faith and even the demons have this faith. But not all people believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our salvation.

To have faith in God cannot save us, but it is necessary or else you cannot have the saving faith. That is why Jesus said in John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (KJV)

The Good Works

Faith in God could also produce good works. And that is good morally. But it cannot produce righteousness in the standard of God.

That reason why the Bible says, there is no one righteous no not one (Romans 3:10).  Even the Israelite people who have accomplished the ten commandments of Moses still God did not consider them righteous.

They were maybe righteous in the standard of men like Job and Noah, but in the standard of God their righteousness is like a filthy rag (Isaiah 64:6).

That is why the Bible says no righteous no not one that includes, Job, Noah, Mary the mother of Jesus and all good people in the whole world before Jesus Christ died and rose again from the dead.

Only the people who have the saving faith or having the faith in Jesus Christ can be considered righteous in the sight of God because they have been justified by faith (Romans 5:1).

The good works produced by the saving faith are now credited on the believers of Jesus as acceptable in God’s sight, and the righteousness as the result of the faith in Jesus Christ is not like a filthy rag anymore, but as sweet smelling savor, holy and acceptable in the sight of God.

Now it comes out that faith plus salvation result good works or righteousness in the lives of the believers of Jesus Christ our Lord. And we cannot find a problem with it and is a sound doctrine.

What Is New Life All About

Originally Written by Pastor Alberto Rendon

"Go, stand in the temple courts," he said, "and tell the people the full message of this new life." Acts 5:20

The Bible says there is a New Life. There is a new life and we must tell the people the full message of it.  What is this New Life? Who has this New Life? Who gave this New Life? How to have this New Life?

These are the questions that we must find the answers. Ignorance to the answers of these questions would make you wonder the real meaning of life.

Life is full of meaning. It is a wonderful thing we have; unless you understood the meaning of life you will not enjoy the reality of life. Your life would be useless and full of sorrow and loneliness.

Life should have a full of joy and peace. Unless you have the New Life you will not experience the true joy and peace of God.

What is New Life?

Some believe it is a new religion. Some believe it is a life being changed from bad habits. Some believe that it is a life saved from the danger and others believe that it is a life that has been fulfilled the New Year’s resolution.

This New Life is so very important to God. This is the life that God desires that all people should have. This life is so very precious that it is the death of the most important person that paid it.

What this New Life Is All About?

None of the above beliefs got the answer. You may have a nice religion but cannot have this New Life. You may have changed your bad habits and you still do not have this New Life. You maybe saved from death, sickness and accident but you do not have this New Life. And you may have fulfilled the New Year’s resolution in a long period of time and still you do not have the New Life.

New Life is called in the Bible “Eternal Life.”

John 3:16 “…that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Who should to believe? Those already have the life/old life; a man of sin. A man has this old life the human life.

In order for a man who already has the old life to have the Eternal life he must believe on Him (Jesus Christ).

In other words, if a man who already believed on the only begotten Son of God has already received eternal life. 1 John 5:12-13 supported it.

If a man already has received the eternal life, it means he has another life that is eternal and to him it is a new life. That is what New Life is. Eternal Life.

New Life is called in the Bible “Spiritual Life.”

John 3:6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

The old life is born of the flesh, which is the human life the old life. But that is born of the spirit is “Spirit” the bible says.  It is clear that the life that is born in the flesh is flesh which means the old life we had. But that is born in the spirit is spirit which it means Spiritual life and that is the New Life.

Notice; both life, the old and the new has its beginning and the beginning is being born. The Bible says that which is BORN of the flesh is flesh and that which is BORN of the Spirit is spirit. The old life is being born in the flesh and the same way the Spiritual Life/New Life is being born in the Spirit, in other words born again.

Many people believe that this New Life is received after the death of the old life, which means a life in heaven. That is why many people pray for the dead that says “Lord give Him (the dead) eternal life.”

What the Bible says about who has this New Life?

In 1 John 5:12-13 it says.  “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

According to what is written in the Bible, “…He that has the son has Life.” What is this life? Simple; it is not the human life the old life but it is the New Life. It is because many people who do not have the son but still they have the life the old life. So the life here indicates the New Life that is given to those who had the Son.

In verse 13, it says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life

Who already had eternal life? Those who believe on the name of the Son of God the Lord Jesus Christ. Are they still alive? Of course. To whom it is written? To the dead or to the people who are still alive?  If we say to the dead it makes no sense.

Who gave this New Life?

1 John 5:11 “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”

It is God who gave the New Life through our Lord Jesus Christ.

In verse 13, it says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life

Those who believe on Jesus Christ.
