Mothers could hear what their husbands could say about who they are, what their children say, how good they are and some could hear from their grandchildren some appreciations that they are the best grandmothers around the world.
At New Life Christian Church, we always have a mother’s day celebration every year. This is the time that the mothers not only being honored but they are having a good fellowship with other mothers.
Some of them can give expressions how they are so thankful to God for their husbands and children. For no woman become a mother without a husband and a child.
Mothers nowadays are in big number of all churches. Most Churches are run by mostly officers of women especially mothers. So it is appropriate in the church to celebrate mother’s day.
Deuteronomy 5:16 “Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the LORD your God gives you.”I Know For Sure The Importance Of A Mother
As a father, I know most fathers have seen what they’re good wives as mothers are doing in the home. If the father is the post of the home, mother also is the whole house of the home.
I see how my wife as a mother taking care of our children. When I was a child, it was my mother who took care of us almost everything; from home to school, from clothing to food, from sickness to health, from a little child until we grow old. And I feel how mothers love their children so much.
Of course fathers also have their responsibilities and love for children as what they are. But it has a big difference compared to the mothers. Maybe there are some or few mothers who are irresponsible, and that is what we wanted to see what ground why they become irresponsible.
In every situation, there is something behind it may be good or bad. We are dealing the bad situation, but we cannot give a healing process without tracing the problem.
We have heard, how many abandoned children, and there are thousands of street children in the cities. Where are the mothers? Where are their parents. Are their mothers still loving them? Is the memory of love still in the minds of the mothers? May these questions find the answers.
Mothers Should Be Lifted Up
I heard a story of a mother who died in order that her child may live.
It happened in the world war II. Early in the morning, there was a woman found dead beside a bridge. There were a couple missionaries who passed by on that bridge, as they were approaching, they heard a baby’s cry. Then when they were approaching, they have found out a lady without clothes and was dead already.
To make the story short, the lady carried her baby traveling during the winter in the night. And at dawn the mother and the baby seemed cannot endure the cold of the snow. So the mother removed her clothes and she covered her baby and made it as a blanket, so that the baby may survive.
The mother died, but the baby was alive. The couple missionaries, took up the baby and brought him home.
I believe the mothers have a greater love for their children. If the street children in the cities are abandoned by their mothers, there must be a greater reason that seems we cannot understand.
Let us lift up the mothers and pray for them.
The Prayer Of The Mother
There was a mother who has a teenage son, that was influenced by the young people in the community, that’s become the problem of the society.
This young man seems no hope for a better future. Her mother became very worried for his son. Although, she was always praying for him, but seems the problem has become worse. One day, while his boy was sleeping in his room at dawn, she came to his room and prayed with intense prayer and with tears flowing down from her eyes.
The boy awakened and he heard the intense prayer of his mother, and then he saw the tears flowing down from the eyes of his mother. He cannot help himself but starts to cry and feels the greatest love of his mother.
It was the turning point of repentance of that boy. There is nothing too hard for God in prayer, a prayer of the mother with love.
Sometimes, many mothers seem do not know what to do for their children. We may hear mothers are angry toward their children. But I believe that kind of angry is not an angry of hatred but and angry of a greater love.
